It is a short distance into France, while relishing the spectacular natural scenery along one of the legendary seaside roads leading into one of the oldest states in Europe: the tiny but proud Principality of Monaco, boasting eight hundred years of independence. From there we turn back towards Italy, but to a different dimension: the Principality of Seborga the town all historical international treaties forgot! It has now claimed its independence and, on the strength of that, it issues its own passports and coinage, as it was done centuries ago.
